Generic Disulfiram

Disulfiram is used to support the treatment of chronic alcoholism. It works by interfering with the metabolism of alcohol, causing unpleasant effects when alcohol is consumed. This creates a strong deterrent effect, helping patients maintain sobriety.

Dosage and Direction

Drug Interaction
Disulfiram interacts with metronidazole, isoniazid, phenytoin, and anticoagulants like warfarin. Alcohol-containing products should be strictly avoided. Inform your doctor of all medications and supplements being used.

Missed Dose
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it’s close to the next dose. Do not double up. Consistent daily use is important for effectiveness.

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose include severe drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and neurological symptoms. Seek emergency medical attention immediately. Treatment is supportive.

Storage
Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep out of reach of children and do not use expired medication.
